Vasily Petrenko will be joined by the world-renowned cellist Truls Mørk and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra when they perform at the BBC Proms on Thursday 25th August.
We have included two performances in the package so in addition to the above Prom (top price stalls seats) you can choose one of the following performances and if you wish to add a third it’s just an additional £40.
On Tuesday 23rd August Stephen Hough will join the BBC Symphony Orchestra to perform Rachmaninov’s dazzling Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini. This concert also includes the Tchaikovsky Fantasy Overture ‘Hamlet’ and Prokofiev’s 3rd Symphony, conducted by Alexander Vedernikov.
On Wednesday 24th August we have secured excellent seats for a new production of A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Globe Theatre. The seats are undercover in the Lower & Upper Galleries.
Also on the 24th Marin Alsop conducts the São Paulo Symphony Orchestra Prom and is joined by the wonderful Venezuelan pianist Gabriela Montero (an artist who many Maestro 'regulars' will know from our visits to Lugano). The programme includes Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A minor, Villa-Lobos Bachianas brasileiras No. 4 – Prelude and Rachmaninov’s Symphonic Dances
On Thursday 25th August Vasily Petrenko and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra are joined by cellist Truls Mørk for a performance including: a World Premiere by Emily Howard ‘Torus’, Shostakovich Cello Concerto No.1 and Rachmaninov 3rd Symphony
In addition to the evening performances, on the morning of the 24th August we have arranged a private tour at the Victoria & Albert Museum focusing on their Theatre and Performance collection and on Thursday 25th August we will have a champagne reception & lunch in the heart of the Mayfair. We will also include a three course pre-performance meal on one of the other evenings.
