Join us for the final performances of the legendary Götz Friedrich Ring at the Deutsche Oper Berlin in April 2017. Some 33 years after this production received its premiere in Berlin it is still considered by many to be THE definitive Ring of the 20th Century.
We stay at the Hotel Leonardo, just a five minute walk from the Opera House and have a full programme of sightseeing during the day. The first cycle takes place over a longer period giving a ten night stay in the city with an opportunity for a real 'immersion' into 21st century Berlin with in depth tours and visits on the non-performance days. During our stay we will also visit Leipzig, Dresden and Potsdam. Cycle #1 includes a welcome dinner and farewell supper as well as two other dinners, two lunches and ‘late night’ soup after the first three performances.
Both Cycles will be conducted by the Deutsche Oper Music Director Donald Runnicles critically acclaimed as one of the great Wagnerian conductors of our time with a superb cast including Evelyn Herlitzius, Eva-Maria Westbroek, Stefan Vinke & Ricarda Merbeth.
